Northfield Historical Society Director Cathy Osterman announces that the new Raid Exhibit has been postponed due to a massive water leak into the NHS building.  On Saturday, February 22, a leak on the second floor of the Scriver Building caused extensive damage to the Historic Bank on the first floor and to collections storage in the basement. Efforts are underway to dry the affected areas and to begin repair and restoration.

NHS has insurance coverage for the structural damage, but will need help raising money to replace water-damaged boxes that housed – and protected – the collection. NHS will need the funds to purchase water resistant materials to be used in wrapping shelving to protect the collection against future water damage.  Click here for a link to donate funds.
