At this point, the most important thing is for accurate, science-based information refer to the Minnesota Dept. of Health and the Centers for Disease Control.

We spoke with Northfield Hospital and Clinics Community Relations Director, Betsy Spethmann and this is the information she sent: There’s a lot of concern in the community about whether people are at risk of COVID-19 through community transmission. CDC has some good recommendations about how to

At about 2pm today (3-13-20) there are 14 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Minnesota. Approximately 555 people have been tested. The closest case to our area is Dakota County and there is one in Olmsted County.

  • Rice County Master Gardener Hort Day scheduled for March 14th is cancelled.
  • St. Olaf China-US Relations lecture series on Monday, March 16th is cancelled
  • The Prince and the Pauper performance tonight at the Northfield Arts Guild is cancelled
  • The Board of Directors of the Northfield Arts Guild has made the decision to suspend public programming for the weekend of March 13-15, including the 411 Concert Series concert of The Cactus Blossoms as a safety precaution to further prevent the spread of COVID-19. We do hope to reschedule the concert, and more information will be coming to ticket buyers ASAP. We thank you for your patience and your understanding.
