Kent State by Deborah Wiles

I was 9 years old and living out of the country when Kent State happened. But my sister was living in Delaware, she was 19 and vividly remembers what happened. It shook her. My guest today is Deborah Wiles. Her book, KENT STATE, has just been published. It is an astonishing reckoning with the events of May 4th, 1970, told in many voices at many angles, to better reach the very human truth of what happened and to show that underneath every tragedy we must find a call to action. Adding all the voices really makes it a conversation. I enjoyed talking with Deborah who comes from a military family. She also talked about the cover of the book.
