Important message to the entire community from the Northfield Police Department

Northfield, MN (May 30, 2020) –
Residents are understandably concerned about civil unrest, rioting and property damage occurring in
the Twin Cities.

Law enforcement agencies throughout Rice and Dakota County are working together to protect
public safety in the county. Together they are running a 24-hour operation to respond to the
changing situation.

“We are so thankful for the police/community partnership in Northfield that helps keep us all as safe
as possible,” said Deputy Chief of Police Mark Elliott.

You may see police officers from different agencies patrolling through your community to make sure
residents are safe and businesses are protected. Residents are asked to follow community safety
directives and call 911 to report anything suspicious.
