Northfield protest against the killing of George Floyd

Amid chants of “No justice no peace, prosecute the police”, “Say his name, George Floyd” and “Black Lives Matter”, a peaceful crowd of about 40 people gathered on Bridge Square last night at 6 o’clock to protest the killing of George Floyd. They held signs of Black Lives Matter, Speak up, Silence is violence  and Skin Color is not reasonable suspicion, along with varied other signs. One young woman said she felt powerless because she couldn’t go to Minneapolis but felt that a small town protest is just as important. She said no one cares about them. There were a number of cars driving by honking their horns in support.
