Musician Talk – Katerina Middeldorp

This week on Musician Talk, host Pauline Jennings talks with Northfield native, NHS and St. Olaf graduate, power soprano Katerina Middeldorp!  Many of you may have seen and heard her on the Guild stage before she moved to Boston to attain a Masters Degree in Vocal Performance at Boston University, where she studies with Dr. LynnEustis. A lover of both opera and musical theater, some of her favorite roles performed includeLady Billows in Albert Herring, Edith in The Pirates of Penzance, and Rona Lisa Peretti in The25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Ms. Middeldorp has sung throughout the United
States and Europe at the Westchester Summer Vocal Institute, the Collaborative Piano Institute,and Music in the Alps. Prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, this summer she was slated to performVitellia (cover) in La Clemenza di Tito with the Boston University Opera Institute, Antonia inLes Contes d’Hoffmann with the Varna International Music Academy, and Mother in Hänsel und Gretel with the Berlin Opera Academy. When not singing, she spends time with her six pets, and fosters neonatal kittens!
