Cannon Falls man shot during argument

On June 18, 2020 at approximately 11:51 pm Officers of the Cannon Falls Police Department responded to a 911 call of a shooting at a residence. When Officers arrived, the suspect, a 45 year old Cannon Falls male, surrendered and was taken into custody.
Officers determined that the scene was safe for the paramedics to attend to the victim, a 32 year old male with gunshot injuries. The Cannon Falls Ambulance transported a 32-year-old male with gun-shot injuries to the hospital. The injuries were non-life-threatening. Both males were at the residence and knew each other. At some point during their interaction an argument occurred which resulted in the shooting.

The weapon was recovered at the scene. Officers worked through the night taking statements, processing the crime scene and collecting evidence of the incident. The Cannon Falls Police Department would like to thank the Cannon Falls Ambulance and Goodhue County Sheriff’s Deputies for their assistance at this chaotic scene.

There is no risk to the public from this incident.

The results of the investigation will be sent to the Goodhue County Attorney for formal charges.
