Paul Niemisto has added his name to the Deep Valley Book Festival of authors taking place virtually Saturday and Sunday Oct. 3-4, joining fellow Northfielders Susan Hvistendahl and Joy Riggs in promoting their books at this largest literary festival in Southern Minnesota.Niemisto will be promoting his “Cornets and Pickaxes” about Finnish bands in Northern Minnesota, Riggs has “Crackerjack Bands and Hometown Boosters” about her great-grandfather G. Oliver Riggs and Hvistendahl has three Historic Happenings books about Northfield, St. Olaf and Carleton and “Milestones and Memories of the St. Olaf Band 1891-2018.”
