CAC’s Food Shelf “in dire need” of volunteer help with food delivery

The CAC Food Shelf is in need of 2 volunteers to drive along with the Hiawathaland bus on Wednesday and Friday mornings each week from 9:45 am-noon. Volunteers would take bags of groceries off of the bus and deliver them to the doorstep of the recipient. No contact delivery.

Would you be available this week to volunteer? Please pass this volunteer request along to your network. We are in dire need of volunteers to commit to shifts to be able to continue doing weekly home delivery for folks in need.
In two weeks, the food shelf will lose two vital food recovery volunteers (one is flying south for the winter and another is out until January). We will need volunteers to help us recover food from Target on Tuesdays and Fridays, as well as help with unloading food bank trucks on Wednesdays. These two guys are my lifelines, really. They have trucks and are able to pick up food and transport whatever is needed weekly for the food shelf. We will be desperately short-handed in food recovery as well as having someone available to do some heavy-lifting in the backroom.
