Broken water main disrupts Northfield traffic, water service

A watermain break has occurred on the 400 block of Highway 19 between Highway 3 South and Laurel Court. Highway 19 is still open to traffic with reduced lanes. It is anticipated that Highway 19 may close once the extent of the repair is identified.

Properties in the immediate area will be notified if their water service will be disrupted.

The cause of the break is as-yet-undetermined. City officials said there was no construction happening in the area.

It is anticipated water service will be restored and road fully open to traffic by 7 p.m. today.
