Highway 19 to remain closed through Friday night

Highway 19 will remain closed until 7 a.m. on Saturday, May 15. The railroad maintenance is taking longer than expected to complete.

Highway 19 between Armstrong Road and Highway 3 will be closed from 7 a.m. on Wednesday, May 12 to 5 p.m. on Friday, May 14 to repair a watermain and to perform maintenance on the railroad. 

A detour will be posted using Eaves Avenue, North Avenue, Eveleth Avenue, 320 Street and Highway 3 detouring traffic around the closure area. 

The City of Northfield urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones, and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
