Clue #2 for the 2021 Winter Walk Ornament Hunt

In preparation for Winter Walk, the Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a holiday themed treasure Hunt. A Christmas tree shaped ornament has been hidden somewhere on public property in Northfield. Clues will be revealed on the KYMN website every morning through Thursday until the ornament is found.

To the tune of “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree”

Clue 2:

Swingin’ around the mulch and trees

From the west side to the east

Fun as far as the eye can see

For the greatest to the least

Flyin’ around the open space

Colors launch into the sky

Take your best shot, or set a pace

Jump in and have a cry

Everyone is feeling oh so happy, doin’ their thing

Voices, laughter, bodies moving,

Get togethers, tunes a grooving

Snowflake Hunt Rules:

This event is sponsored by the Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism and is an
official “Winter Walk” event. A Christmas ornament in the shape of a snow flake (4-6” in circumference) will be hidden within the Northfield city limits on public property.
The first clue will be revealed at 8am on Monday, December 6th, 2021. There will be up to four
clues revealed, one per day, with the final clue on Thursday, December 9th, 2021, the morning of
Winter Walk.
If the ornament is not found by 5pm on Thursday, December 9th, 2021, the hunt will officially
end for the year. The location will then be revealed and there will be no winner named.
Clues will be emailed to 95.1 The One (KYMN Radio), the Northfield News (online) and the
Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce by 8am each morning of this event. Each will be asked
to post to their websites, Facebook pages and for KYMN Radio to broadcast on air.
The winner must be at least 18 years old, although anyone can help in the hunt.
The ornament will be located on public property within Northfield and will not be buried. Snow
precipitation after hiding may result in some snow cover. No digging will be necessary in the
retrieval of the ornament.
The ornament will not be hidden in any public Christmas decoration or display. Refrain from
digging through any existing decorations.
Should any damage to property occur while they are retrieving the ornament, the winner will
forfeit all prize money and prizes.
The Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism or any participating sponsor, media
entity or Chamber member is not responsible for any personal injury incurred hunting for or
retrieving the ornament.
There is no requirement to register or purchase anything to hunt. The payout is the same for all.
There is no cost for this event. Metal detectors are not allowed.
When the ornament is found, the winner must immediately notify Melissa Bernhard at
612-282-3069. Melissa will arrange to meet you and confirm the ornament’s authenticity. The
final winner will be at the sole discretion of the hunt organizer.
We encourage families to join together to work out the clues and search together for a possible
new tradition.
If you win, you must agree to be publicly named, your photo and name(s) on various local
websites and a picture and write up in the paper with a representative of the Northfield Area
Chamber of Commerce & Tourism, and a representatives from the sponsors: Northfield
Retirement Community, Richie Eye Clinic and Neuger.
The winner will receive $750 in Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Chamber
Buck Gift Certificates.
Everyone except the Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism staff, hunt organizers,
and their immediate family members are eligible to participate.
