Windchills force late start for Northfield Schools on Wednesday

Northfield Schools will start two hours late on Wednesday morning due to the cold weather.

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Warning for the area effective until 11am tomorrow morning. Temperatures in the Northfield area will dip as low as 15 and 25 degrees below zero tonight. Southerly winds will increase late tonight and windchills could drop to 40 degrees below zero by early tomorrow morning.

Northfield Schools Superintendent Dr. Matt Hillmann said school will start, and busses will run, two hours later than a regular, non-Wednesday schedule.

A two hour late start means morning Kid Ventures is also canceled, and a two hour late on a Wednesday morning means there are no PLCs for staff.
