Q. What qualifies for the office your running for?
A. I have always been interested in policy and landuse. My degree from the University of Minnesota, and career in soil and water conservation/watershed management have taught me a lot about working with elected and appointed boards. I think it’s helpful to know how various organizations operate. It gives me the opportunity to analyze what decision-making process works best for a particular board or organization.
Q. What inspired you to run for office? If you running for reelection why do you want to stay in office?
A. I think Dundas is a great place to live, and I want to be a champion for our City. We have a fair amount of new and planned development, and there is a newly formed Economic Development Authority (EDA)! I want to make sure we are progressing but also maintaining the aspects of Dundas that citizens are proud of.
Q. What does being a leader mean to you?
A. Leadership is about listening and getting to know people. A good leader encourages people to use their skills to do more for themselves and for their community. Leaders are not afraid to take on hard topics. They can identify problems, but they must also propose solutions or solicit ideas from the community to solve problems. I strive to be a trusted and respected leader and will do so by respecting the viewpoints of everyone.
