Todd Zehnder and Gary Freking on their petition to stop the funding for street projects in Northfield

Todd Zehnder and Gary Frekking discuss the petition they are turning in to City Hall this afternoon, asking for a reverse referendum on the funding for the street projects in Northfield. The goal has been to keep the city from building bike lanes that they feel are intrusive, wasteful and dangerous. Should their petition be approved by review, the city will either put the funding for all street projects in Northfield this year to a referendum, or the city will not be allowed to issue bonds for street projects for 365 days, effectively killing the 2023 street work and putting 2024 into question.
