Debates for Local Candidates Set for Saturday & October 3rd.

By Logan Wells, News Director | Logan@kymnradio.net

Northfield area voters will have two opportunities this year to hear from local candidates directly in forums hosted in Northfield.

The League of Women Voters will be hosting a debate throughout Saturday, with many of the different local offices in the area. Starting at 9am will be candidates for Rice County Board of Commissioners, followed by the candidates for Northfield Mayor and City Council At Large at 10:15am, the candidates for Northfield City Council Wards 2 and 3 at 11:30am, and Northfield School Board at 1pm.

Audience members can submit questions in writing at the event, per the published Forum Rules. By League of Women Voter policy, the identity of the person asking the question is confidential.

The forum will take place in the Viking Theater of Buntrock Commons at St. Olaf College. The forum will be broadcast live on St. Olafs website, with the video recording available afterwards. https://www.stolaf.edu/multimedia/play/?e=4865&fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR100U2VJzNVDe1fp5M_ZZshYSf2B4-Tz9bfA2WLhVL6G8-SgPkCgwxLqHY_aem_lEK7e3QDwWo9ILwilChWQw
