Early Voting In Minnesota Begins Today

Early voting begins today across the State of Minnesota today. Requested mail-in ballots will begin to appear in mailboxes, and, in Northfield, City Hall will be open for in-person voting.

Voting hours are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 7:30am – 4:30pm. Voting will be open on Tuesdays from 7:30am – 6:30pm, and Fridays from 8am until noon.

Special hours will include Saturday, October 26th from 9am – 3pm, Tuesday, October 29th from 7:30am – 7pm, Saturday, November 2nd and Sunday, November 3rd from 9am – 3pm, and Monday, November 4th from 7:30am – 5pm. Local voting precincts will be open on Election Day, November 5th, from 7am – 8pm.

Every eligible voter in Rice County can vote at Northfield City Hall. In fact, all voters have at least one location where they can vote early in person with an absentee ballot. Those who are not  are not registered can do so in person with the required proof of residence.

The ballot in November will include federal, state, and local offices, including President of the United States, United States Senator, Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District, Minnesota House of Representatives District 58A, Northfield Mayor, an At-Large Northfield City Council seat and the Ward 2 City Council seat, as well as Rice County Commissioner seats, and several members of the Judiciary.
