The Minnesota Medical Association (MMA) is reminding residents to get their shots. MMA President Laurel Ries says if the pumpkins are out, it’s time to get your flu shot.
“Right around Halloween, it gives you the full protection throughout the season, and it also gets you your protections before the flu season typically starts.”
Rice County Public Health has scheduled several Flu Shot Clinics for the public across the county. In Northfield, they will have a Flu Shot Clinic available on Tuesday, October 15th from 8:30am to 9:30am at Fifty North and on Monday, October 21st from 3:30pm – 5:30pm at the Northfield HealthFinders Collaborative. Vaccines for children will be available at the October 21st clinic.
Registration for the flu vaccine is onsite. Please bring your health insurance card for registration, and Rice County Public Health will bill directly to your insurance. Free flu vaccines will be available for those who are uninsured.
