The Dundas City Council meets tonight at 7pm. The main item on the agenda is approving the agreement between Dundas, the City of Northfield, and the Northfield Public Schools to fund the new ice arena. Dundas and the school district had previously   signed documents of support in the spring, but now are signing the official agreement.

The funding for the project is based on the net tax capacity of the two cities, meaning that Dundas is set to fund about 12% of the project, the City of Northfield will then fund the remaining portion. The Northfield Hockey Association has agreed to donate $2 million to the project lowering the cost to approximately $18 million. The school district has agreed to fund the project via a 20 year lease of $250,000 a year.

The council meeting starts at 7pm in the council chambers of the Dundas City Hall.

Dundas is also asking residents in Bridgewater Heights to conserve water this week while the water tower is shut down for maintenance. Starting today the water tower in that area will shut down for routine maintenance, during that time a smaller well will provide water to residents however it will be enough water for outside sprinklers and only domestic use for water will be available.

If you have any questions, call City Hall during regular business hours at 507.645.2852. The project starts today and ends Friday.
