The Northfield School Board meets tonight after a several-week break due to the alignment of dates. At the meeting, Director of Instructional Services Hope Langston will give a presentation about the district’s scores on the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments or MCA test. The MCA test is a statewide test that most students take that evaluates math, reading, and science. According to the school district, Northfield’s results indicate continued improvement in middle school performance. Achievement gaps in demographic performance remain but have seen improvements in recent years. There will also be a presentation about the Northfield Public School attendance record. Starting this year the district is one of 12 schools in Minnesota in a pilot program to improve school attendance.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Matt Hillmann will provide an overview of the District’s state, presenting information on the school’s strategic plan, progress towards benchmarks, and focus areas for the future. Dr. Hillmann will also review the district’s enrollment report.
