Election Day is just 15 days away, and as we enter the final stretch, we want to provide an update on KYMN’s election coverage.
Three Election Explainers are left before November 5th; today’s edition will focus on the Rice County Sales Tax Referendum and the Northfield Public Schools Referendum. Next week, Election Explainer will be a Q&A where we will answer any questions you have about local government or issues on air. You can email those in advance to Logan@kymnradio.net. The last Election Explainer on November 4th will focus on voting in person, including where to vote and what ID you must bring. Election Explainers air on Monday mornings and are available as a podcast later.
A forum between Kristi Pursell and Rita Hillmann-Olson, the two candidates for State House 58A, will air today at 10 am. On Thursday at 9am, KYMN will air the interview with Rice County Board of Commissioner Candidate Eric Sahlin. Next Monday, the 28th at 9am, KYMN will air a forum between candidates for Northfield Mayor Ruth Dahl and Erica Zweifel.
After the final campaign finance reports are released on November 1st, KYMN will publish a report about local candidates’ fundraising and spending. KYMN will also have live elections results and a live blog of headlines on our website during election night.
Early voting remains open until Election Day. The simplest way for Rice County residents to vote early is at Northfield City Hall, on the 2nd floor in the Training Room.
Voting hours are Mondays through Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. On Tuesdays, voting hours go until 6 p.m., and on Fridays, voting is from 7:30 a.m. to Noon. Early voting hours will also be open on the next two weekends. This Saturday, early voting will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; the following week, on Saturday, November 2nd, and Sunday, November 3rd, early voting will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
