Two of Northfield’s most prominent youth organizations have been active in the lead-up to the local election. The District Youth Council, which is a liaison and provides information from the student body to the school board, has hosted two events for students this year. First, they hosted multiple information and Q&A sessions about the High School Bond Referendum. The District Youth Council also hosted a candidate forum for the school board.

The Northfield Mayor’s Youth Council will then host a mock election in the high school, which all students can participate in and learn more about voting and what is on the ballot. The Mayor’s Youth Council has also hosted a voter registration drive for students who are 18 and to preregister students who are 16 or 17 so they can vote in future elections.
