City Offers Program To Learn About Historic Preservation

The City of Northfield and will be hosting a program for community members who are interested in historic preservation. The program is the nationally renowned Commission Assistance and Mentorship Program (CAMP) from the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions. 

The training aims to build strong local preservation programs and leaders through education, training, and advocacy. While ideal for preservation commission members,  property owners, inspectors, realtors, architects, and college students and others interested in preservation can benefit from the training. The training will provide high quality and engaging information through presentations, hands-on exercises, group discussions, networking and mentoring.

All CAMP topics qualify for continuing education credits through the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the American Planning Association (APA). Certificates of completion are also provided for anyone needing documentation of attendance.

The class will take place on Saturday at 9am to 4:45pm at Carleton College. Interested participants must register online, sign up here:

The training is free for participants thanks to a generous grant from the State Historic Preservation Office,. Lunch is included. Registration is required by the end of today.
