Dundas City Council Meets Tonight; Cannabis Sale Ordinances The Main Item on the Agenda

By Logan Wells, News Director | Logan@kymnradio.net

The Dundas City Council meets tonight for one of their last meetings of the year.  The main item on the agenda is several ordinances related to the sale of cannabis in the city. Like Northfield and other cities, Dundas is looking to pass a set of local regulations before the start of 2025, when the sale of cannabis becomes legal in Minnesota.

The Dundas City Council is scheduled to meet one last time for the year on December 9th, which will also be their Truth in Taxation presentation. In September, the council set a preliminary tax levy increase of 5.5%; here’s, City Administrator Jenelle Teppen said:

“And direction from the Council was, after looking at all over through these two work sessions, was to come back with a flat tax rate for 2025. And So what that equates to is a 5.18% increase for the preliminary levy in 2025, and how that affects Properties in Dundas will depend on where the county comes in on assessments.” – Dundas City Administrator Jenelle Teppen on the KYMN Morning Show
