Two of Northfield’s local government organizations will be hosting meetings tonight. The school district will host a public input event for the design of the new high school, here’s Superintendent Dr. Matt Hillmann:
“During the educational campaign, many people ask what’s it gonna look like…. What do you want to look? Well, you haven’t designed it yet because we can’t pay the architects to make any kind of design until the bond passes so. Really want Northfielders to come out and just stop by and let us know what you are thinking about. The design of the high school.” – Superintendent of Schools Dr. Matt Hillmann on the KYMN Morning Show
The event takes place tonight from 6pm to 7:30pm in the high school’s media center. The event is an open house style event, the public can come at any time during the event.
The Northfield City Council also announced that there will be a special meeting tonight. The meeting is largely procedural, and four similar items are on the agenda: approving labor union contracts. The labor contract details have already been negotiated and approved in the prior meeting with the budget vote, however, the council must approve the contracts by the end of the year. The contracts are with the law enforcement unions and the operating engineer’s unions.
