With students on winter break in the coming weeks, the Northfield Public Library is hosting several events for youth of all ages. For younger kids, there includes an “Art Explosion” event with a variety of art materials available for kids to use, on December 30th at 10am to 11am, later that day will be a 40 Lego Challenge, where kids get 40 random lego pieces and have a challenge to create something with the items. That event takes place from 1pm to 1:45pm and is for kids 6-10.
For teenagers, there are several events, including Dungeons and Dragons 101, Teen Storytime, crafting, which includes button making and needle felting, and other gaming events.
The library will host a Harry Potter Escape Room on New Year’s Eve. From 10- Noon, the escape room will be designed for kids ages 6 to 10 with an adult, and from 1pm to 4:15pm the escape room will be designed for teenagers. The event is free, but sign up is required in advance. Participants can select a 45-minute session in the escape room.
