From now until the end of the year, there will be five blood drives in Northfield with several scheduled at the beginning of the new year as well.
Tomorrow a blood drive will be at the Northfield Area Family YMCA, Monday at The Grand Event Center, on Friday, December 27th at Cannon Strenght, on December 30th at All Saint’s Church in Northfield, and on December 31st at Merchants Bank on Honeylocust Drive.

To give blood, you must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good general health and feeling well. Minnesota Red Cross spokeswoman Sue Thesenga (THEE-SING-uh) noted that people can give blood more often than they think:
“You can safely donate blood every 56 days. So a lot of times, donors donate once or twice a year, and that is fabulous, but if they donated more regularly and more often, that would help” – Minnesota Red Cross spokeswoman Sue Thesenga, audio courtesy of the Minnesota News Network
The whole process of completing the paperwork, donating the blood, and recovery, takes about 1 hour to complete.

Thesenga says every donation counts:
