The Northfield City Council meets tonight for a work session meeting. The meeting will take place in City Hall, but not in the Council Chambers, instead, it will be in the training room on the 2nd floor. Since the meeting is not in the Council Chambers, a live stream option online will not be available. However, a recording will still be posted afterward.

One item is on the agenda for the whole meeting, a presentation on Leadership and Effective Governance from Craig Rapp with The Rapp Consulting Group. The presentation is the beginning of the strategic planning process for the city, which lays out the next 3 to 5 years of planning. The Rapp group, which specializes in helping governments with their strategic plan, has previously worked for other communities in Minnesota, including Hennepin County.

At work session meetings, no votes are taken by the council, instead, there will be longer presentations and discussions scheduled. Furthermore, since the meeting is a work session, no public comments will be taken at the meeting. However, you can contact your councils via email or the Ecomment option. You can email the council by clicking here.

To view the agenda, go to northfieldmn.gov and click the “Agenda & Minutes” button in the middle of the home page. From there, find tonight’s meeting date to watch the recording, as well as a copy of the agenda and other meeting documents.

Tonight’s meeting starts at 6pm, in the Training Room of City Hall.
