That was the seven members of the Northfield School Board being sworn in Monday evening by Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Gordon Moore. Moore started the ceremony by reminding the board members of the duty they have to their office and the community:
“It is an honour to be elected to guide the education of our community’s children. As you recite the oath of office, you assume a tremendous responsibility along with the other members of the school board for Equitable and Quality education of every student in the Northfield Public Schools.” – Minnesota Supreme Court Justice Gordon Moore at the 1/13/2025 Organizational School Board Meeting
In November, Amy Goerwitz was reelected to her third term, Claudia Gonzalez-George and Corey Butler were reelected to their second term, and Maggie Epstein was elected to her first term.
After the swearing-in, the board elected its officers and opted for reelecting all four to their previous positions, meaning that Gonzalez-George will serve again as Chair, Butler as Vice Chair, Goerwitz as Clerk, and Ben Miller as Treasurer.
