The Northfield School Board meets tonight for a busy meeting. One of the main items for discussion will be the district’s updated financial forecast. After a revised budget in December, the district is predicting a budget deficit of $590,000. The financial forecast will provide the anticipated budget reduction targets for the next school year.

Also on the agenda is information about the Indigenous Parent Meeting and Service update, the report will share how the district is working to improve service to Indigenous students and families. Then, the district will hear a Bond Presale Report related to the renovation of the High School. Superintendent Dr. Matt Hillmann will present next year’s school calendar and give an overall update on the high school renovation project.
If you are interested in attending the school board meeting, the meetings are held in the District Office Board Room; use Door #2 located on the north side of the District Office on 2nd Street West. The meetings are also streamed live on Zoom; you can find the link to the video at Northfieldschools.org, recordings of the meetings are also posted on the district’s YouTube page.
The meeting starts tonight at 6pm.
