The next show at the Northfield Arts Guild is set to be Legally Blonde Jr. Edition. The show’s instantly recognizable songs are filled with humor, wit, and sass, leaving cast members and audiences alike filled with fun.
The show is part of the arts guild’s Purple Door Theater, started by Rachel Haider 10 years ago, and works to involve youth in all aspects of the production of a show. Here’s the Arts Guild’s Performing Arts Director, Pauline Jennings:
It’s not like a regular rehearsal, It’s more educational than regular rehearsals because they learn about all the aspects of theater… And so kids learn acting, tech roles, and performance. They all do, even if they’re not acting. They’re not doing tech.” – Pauline Jennings, Performing Arts Director of the Northfield Arts Guild on the KYMN Morning Show
Jennings says that this show includes over 30 youth participants, such as actors and crew, who are learning about how theater works.
The show opens on Friday, February 21st, and will run for three weekends until March 2nd. Shows on Friday and Saturday night are at 7pm and the Sunday show is at 2pm. Tickets are available for purchase now on the guild’s website, Northfieldartsguild.org. Click the “tickets” button in the middle of the home page. Tickets cost $20 for adults and $16 for students and seniors.
