Rice County Environmental Services will host a Fix-It Clinic on Saturday, February 22nd, from Noon to 4pm at FiftyNorth here in Northfield. Fix-it clinics are free for volunteers to fix your items while they teach you how to troubleshoot and make small repairs yourself. Fix-it Clinics are also a great way to engage in reuse behaviors by keeping products needing minor repairs out of landfills. Not everything can be fixed, so volunteers will also help attendees determine what to do with their broken item if it cannot be fixed at the event.
While the event is free, sign-up is required in advance to ensure enough volunteers are available. Attendances can choose either to sign up for a clothing repair spot or a small appliances or electronics repair spot, both sections last for 30 minutes. Examples of small appliances include vacuum cleaners, toasters, fans, sewing machines, and other devices.
