The show Around the World in 80 Days, currently at the Paradise Center for the Arts in Faribault, closes this weekend. This family-friendly wild adventure takes you back to Victorian England, inside the race to complete a travel challenge, and explores wonderfully funny feats of imagination. The director, Patrick Braucher, noted that he saw two different versions of the script for this show, and he chose one that provided more flexibility and creativity for the show. Here’s Braucher on KYMN’s ArtZany:
“I thought it was much more adventurous than the other one and we were able to play a little bit more with this script and take it to some different places. As far as this, the set and costuming and things like that.” – Show Director Patrick Brauncher on ArtZany
The small cast will transport you around the world, via a multitude of characters, thirty-four scenes, six boats, five trains, three fights, and a circus, together with wonderfully funny feats of imagination. If you want to watch the performance, there are three shows left, Friday and Saturday night at 7:30pm and Sunday at 2pm. Tickets are $17.50 for members, $19.50 for non-mebers, and $13.50 for students.
