The Northfield City Council meets tonight, the main item on the agenda is the 2024 Annual Report from the Police Chief. The report will include information such as number and type of calls, an overview of traffic stops and crime, and other noteworthy events. The report shows that there has been a 6% decrease in the number of police calls from 2023 to 2024. In 2024, the Northfield Police Department responded to 27,987 calls. However, traffic stops have been increasing since 2020, and 2024 was a 5-year high for the number of traffic stops, which was 4,482. Will have a future news story covering the story more fully in-depth.
