The Northfield Arts Guild is hosting auditions for its spring shows: Shakespeare In Love. Director Rachel Haider say that she is looking for actors of all genders with a sense of play. Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds and age 15+ are encouraged to audition. With doubling, the cast might be around 16 male presenting and 5 female presenting actors. Some roles can be gender flexible.
Director of Performing Arts Pauline Jennings described the atmosphere of the auditions:

“And basically you come in, you don’t have to have a prepared piece. Rachel’s pretty laid back on this stuff and does it make you feel uncomfortable when you audition? This is a show to do to audition for because there’s a lot of roles.” – Pauline Jennings, Northfield Arts Guild Performing Arts Director, on the KYMN Morning Show
There is no need to prepare anything in advance; you will read from the script. You will be asked to attempt a British accent (any region.)
Rehearsals begin March 31st, performances are set to be May 16th – 25th.
Auditions take place Sunday and Monday evening and there are still several time slots to sign up for. You can sign up and find more information by going to northfieldartsguild.org/auditions
