Tomorrow is the Community Market Fair and it’s more than just a Home & Garden Show. The Northfield Chamber of Commerce hosts the event, which is free admission to guests, and it takes place at the Dundas Dome. Chamber President Jane Bartho says that they have over 100 exhibits of different local vendors and organizations, selling products and sharing information:

“Anything from home remodel to landscape to inside to outside. We’ve got some artists. We’ve got some high school kids selling their wares. We’ve got food booths. We’ve got coffee in the morning. We’ve got food at lunch. We’ve got things for all ages. Got an Easter Bunny photo shoot for the kids. And the doghouse is bringing some dogs to pets. There’s a lot to learn, a lot of nonprofits are going to be there telling their stories.” – Jane Bartho, Northfield Chamber of Commerce President
Bartho stated that many of the regular event vendors will be there as well with information and products for home repair and landscaping:
“There’s a lot of homes in Northfield that are 100 years old. They might need new floors, new shingles, new siding, and if they’re like me, I’m ready to update my landscape every other year.” – Jane Bartho, Northfield Chamber of Commerce President
KYMN will also be one of the groups at the fair. We will be broadcasting live from the Dundas Dome at different points throughout the day and will have prizes as well for people as they come by.

Bartho stated there is no good name for the Community Market Fair, noting that the show was previously named the Home & Garden Show and the Spring Expo. Bartho stated that the name change happened in part because of the growth of the show:
“We outgrew the space at the ice arena. And so the Dundas Dome was a real logical step forward. We needed more space. And with that we had more space for more vendors. So we invited all the Riverwalk market, fair vendors who wanted to be a part of it. We invited all the kids from high school who had any kind of service ” – Jane Bartho, Northfield Chamber of Commerce President
The event takes place on Saturday from 9am to 3pm at the Dundas Dome. Overflow parking will be available at Slumberland Furniture and the Chamber will be operating a free shuttle.
Admission is free.
