It’s National Library Week; KYMN Set To Debut New Library Themed Program

By Logan Wells, News Director | Logan@kymnradio.net

This week is National Library Week, and this year’s theme is: “What Draws You To the Library?” Northfield Director of Library Services Natalie Draper, stated that there will be activities to share your love for the library:

“If you come in anytime between the 6th and the 12th, we’re going to have materials out for folks. We’re going to ask you, you don’t have to be great at drawing. You could write to what drew you to the library. But if you feel moved to draw, what drew you to the library, we’d like to see that too. So and then we’ll be posting up the finished results.” Natalie Draper, Northfield Director of Library Services on the KYMN Morning Show

Draper said that it will be interesting to see all the different reasons that people enjoy and find the library useful.

As part of this week, KYMN is debuting a new program: Library Love.

The program will consist of Draper and other library staff discussing more than just some of the events going on; it will also examine how the library operates. In the debut show, some of the topics discussed will be the federal funding of libraries, how libraries’ pricing models work, and, of course, National Library Week.

The program debuts today at 9 a.m. For more information about the Northfield Public Library, visit mynpl.org or visit the downtown library or Library Oasis in the Community Resource Center.
