The Northfield Hospital Auxiliary Book Fair opens today. The annual event raises money that aids and benefits projects at the Northfield Hospital. The sale fills the Ice Arena with over 70,000 books, music CDs, puzzles, and LPs, all for quite a reasonable price. The base price for paperback books is $1, and for hardcover books it is $2.
The sale today starts at 5pm, and while many people begin lining up in advance, event organizer Mark Heiman says that isn’t necessary:

“Everybody’s in those doors in about 5 minutes and you can walk in at 5:05 and there’s no wait and it’s just an amazing scene. So if you don’t mind crowds and you like the excitement of a big sale, that’s the time to go.” – Mark Heinman, Chair of the Hospital Book Fair on the KYMN Morning Show
The fair opens tonight at 5pm and goes until 9pm. The fair is open Wednesday – Friday from 9am to 9pm. Saturday is the last day of the fair running from 8am to 3pm. Friday is half price day, and Saturday is the $5 bag sale day, with anything fitting in a bag being $5.
