The Dundas City Council meets tonight for its regular meeting. On the agenda is a request by the Dundas Baseball Association and the Dundas Dukes to rename the baseball field at Memorial Park as Bill Nelson Field at Memorial Park. Nelson had been an instrumental part of both Dukes ‘ baseball and Dundas, working for decades to improve the ballpark. He also played for the Dukes, helping them go to state three times in his time on the team, and is in the Minnesota Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame. The council will consider approving the name change and a new sign would be placed at the field.

Also on the agenda is the approval of bids for the Water Main improvements along Dundas Boulevard. The City received nine bids, with the lowest coming from Alcon Excavating at $174,000. Dundas’ engineers had estimated the project cost to be $194,000.
The last item on the agenda is a work session meeting to review the city’s sidewalk policy and, in particular, whether the city will be responsible for the maintenance of public sidewalks or if property owners abutting sidewalks will remain responsible for the work.
The Dundas City Council meets tonight at 7pm, in the Council Chambers of the Dundas City Hall.
