Two of Northfield Public Library’s staff were recently recognized for their work. Library Director Natalie Draper and Outreach Director Angelica Linder were named by the Library Journal as the 2025 Movers and Shakers. The award recognizes 50 people from across the United States as some of the people shaping the libraries of the future. Recipients of the award are named to one of 5 categories: Advocates, Change Agents, Community Builders, Educators, and Innovators. The Library Journal has the highest circulation among any librarianship journal.

Draper was recognized in the change agents category for her work of inclusion and expanding programs at the library. The Library Journal noted items like hiring a bilingual staff to expand the library’s outreach, paid internships with support from the Community College Collaborative, and expanding the art programs in the community.
