Third Thursdays return to Northfield again tonight, and this year it’s bigger and better than ever before, expanding the city block to now run along Division Street from 5th Street past Bridge Square, and down to the Library. Event Organizer Teresa Jensen stated that live music is one of their main draws:

“The city has purchased a new show mobile too, so this might be that they had it at the library event a couple of weeks ago, but they will have it at this event. And we are really emphasizing dancing.” – Teresa Jensen, Event Organizer of the Third Thursdays on the KYMN Morning Show
Tonight’s music lineup is the Crimson Roots, Catty Wampus, and Big Casa Granda.
Also featured at the event will be the fermentation tent with different craft beverages from Loon Liquor, Keepsake Cidery, and the three local breweries: Chapel, Imminent, and Tanzenwald. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be served at the event.

One of the biggest changes this year is that Riverwalk Market Fair vendors will no longer be at the event, Jensen said that while the vendors were great, Third Thursdays attracted a different customer than the Saturday market.
“People came down for the music and the food and not necessarily to buy vegetables. So, the market fair pivoted to a different format. And what we’re doing or I’m on that board as well.” – Teresa Jensen, Event Organizer of the Third Thursdays on the KYMN Morning Show
Among the other events, downtown businesses will have special hours and deals. Chair of the Friends of Downtown, Josh Zimmerman, encouraged people to frequent the businesses for deals and food:
“Please don’t make plans for dinner that night. Come down and have some dinner.” – Josh Zimmeran, President of the Third Thursdays on the KYMN Morning Show
Third Thursday will also run in June, July, and August. Tonight’s event starts at 5 pm and goes until 8 pm.
