City utilities crews are flushing watermains in Northfield on Sunday, May 18 through Thursday, May 22 between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Water mains are routinely flushed to remove any minerals that may accumulate in the distribution system and to check the operational integrity of the fire hydrants.
Residents are advised to limit water use during the flushing period and check for discoloration before using water for laundry. If your laundry does get discolored, keep the items wet and pick up a special soap for stain removal at Northfield Utilities Division, 1101 College Street.
