The Northfield City Council meets tonight for a regular meeting, followed by a work session meeting.
Comprehensive Plan Goes For Approval After Being Tabled Earlier in May
The biggest item on the agenda is once again considering approval of the Comprehensive Plan, Northfield’s 20-year plan. At the first meeting in May, Councilors Chad Beumer and Brad Ness objected to the plan, which is required to have a supermajority to pass, or 5 out of 7 votes (a regular item only needs four yes votes). With Councilor Peter Dahlen absent, the plan could not pass in its current form and was tabled by the council. The council will again take up the plan tonight and consider any amendments.
