The Dundas City Council meets tonight, also rescheduled because of Memorial Day. The main item on the agenda is to approve the new ordinance regarding who is responsible for sidewalk maintenance. In Dundas, the abutting landowner is responsible for sidewalk repair and replacement, as well as the cost of that repair.

“And the Dundas City Council wanted to move in the direction of how Northfield does it, taking on that responsibility. So we know that one, repairs are being made and our sidewalk system is safe. And two, that when replacement is made it is made according to our specifications.” – Jenelle Teppen, Dundas City Administrator on the KYMN Morning Show
After a discussion of the policy in April, the Council the council is now set to approve the new ordinance at tonight’s meeting.

When the regular meeting wraps up, the Dundas Council will then move into a Work Session meeting for the 2026 Budget Kickoff. The presentation and kick off will include setting a budget timeline and discussion of projects and council priorities.
The Dundas City Council meets tonight at 7pm in the Council Chambers of the Dundas City Hall.
