The Rice County Skwarn organization, a group of weather spotters and experts, is seeking community input through a brief survey. Since the 1970s, Skywarn groups have been a part of the National Weather Service’s network to help issue timely alerts and information to the community. The Rice County Skywarn provides a wide variety of services to the community, including live streams during weather events, up-to-the-minute weather podcasts, and weather alerts and analysis on their social media. All of Skywarn’s weather forecasts are free to the public. The group also provides a series of training and classes to the community each year.
Among the different survey questions asked are how you receive and would like to receive weather alerts, and the quality of Skywarn’s alerts. The survey takes about 5 minutes to complete. You can find the survey and all of Rice County Skywarn’s services on their website https://www.skywarn.us/home or search Rice County Skywarn on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
