VFW Starts Flags for Northfield Fundraiser

By Logan Wells, News Director | Logan@kymnradio.net

The Northfield Veterans of Foreign Wars has started a new fundraiser: Flags for Northfield. The fundraiser aims to purchase an American flag set for people who would like to display one, but can’t afford the flags. The flags are weatherproof and include a bracket to hang off the house.

The idea for the fundraiser first came in the lead up to Memorial Day this year when a VFW member posted in the Northfield Happenings group on Facebook of flags available for members of the public. Shortly after the post was made, there was a high level of interest, and all of the flags were claimed. However, the interest inspired the VFW to continue to provide flags to anyone.

Donations can be mailed or dropped off at the VFW in Northfield with the check earmarked “Flags for Northfield.” The VFW will also be hosting additional fundraisers later this summer and distributing the flags later as well.
