The Northfield School Board meets tonight. The board is continuing with its summer schedule, meeting only once in June and July. With only one meeting, there are several updates for the board.
Items for discussion with the board include an advertising update and a discussion about the collected revenue from different sponsorships. Also included in the report is a discussion about the scoreboard at Memorial Field.
The Board will hear a report on Student attendance. In the last year, the Northfield Schools have been part of a pilot with the state to lower the rate of students missing days of school. The board will hear any recommendations or changes for the coming school year.
And the board will hear a report on the district’s annual safety drill.
The board will take action on a few items: first, approving the first steps in hiring a firm for the next school year’s audit. The board will then also approve a contract for teacher laptops. The current devices will be sold, and the proceeds will be used to lease new devices next year.
The meeting will an with two items for information an update on the high school construction project and the annual fundraising report of the district.
In August, the School Board will resume its 2 meetings a month schedule.

The meetings are also streamed live on Zoom; you can find the link to the video in the agenda at Northfieldschools.org. Recordings of the meetings are also posted on the district’s YouTube page.
Tonight’s meeting starts at 6pm.
