The Model T is rolling into town tomorrow with a special event: The Model T Ford Club International Tour. Taking place on the Rodel grounds from 11 am to 2 pm on Tuesday, the event allows attendees to walk around and get an up-close look at these classic cars. Visit and talk with the owners and the enthusiasts.

Also happening during the event is a special preview of the Defeat of Jesse James Days, a rare mid-summer bank raid reenactment. The reenactment takes place at 11:30 am and 12:30 pm, lasting about 30 minutes each, and takes place on Division Street in Downtown. Bank Raid Reenactment Announcer Tim Freeland encouraged and challenged Northfielders and especially townies to attend:
“I run into a lot of townies, and I ask them one question, I say, hey, you know, you’ve been here forever. Have you been to one of the raid reenactments lately? And I don’t know if there always is truth because the response is ‘Yeah, but it was from Bridge Square, so kind of.’ This is the canned answer I get a lot.” – Tim Freeland, DJJD Bank raid Reenactment Announcer, KYMN News Interview

He shared why the event was so important to attend and understand:
“So my advice to most people that think they’ve seen a raid is to really understand the deep, deep history right here in this town. Because it’s significant and it’s awesome.” – Tim Freeland, DJJD Bank raid Reenactment Announcer, KYMN News Interview
Freeland stated that this mid-summer reenactment might be a good time for townies or others who don’t enjoy the celebration to visit one of the reenactments.
