Northfield first responders are hosting a special event on Monday evening, Picnic in the Park. Taking place at Spring Creek Park from 5pm – 8pm. Northfield Police Chief Jeff Schroepfer says that the event will include free food, fun, and giveaway drawings, including kids’ toys, other giveaways, and other fun events:
“So working on lining up a bunch of stuff, we’ll have police cars there. We’ll have the Sheriff’s Office. Both will be there. We have a helicopter coming, so we’ll have all kinds of things for it. For kids to do as well as bounce houses.” – Jeff Schroepfer, Northfield Police Chief on KYMN In The Morning
The event is being led by Hosanna Lutheran Church, but includes participation from all of the local first responders, including Police, Sheriffs, Fire and Rescue, and Emergency Medical Services. Schroepfer says it is about building community.

“Hosanna that the primary sponsor. They’re holding a picnic in the park to honor responders, but then also building community relations as well and bringing out as many people as we can.” – Jeff Schroepfer, Northfield Police Chief on KYMN In The Morning
Spring Creek Park is located at 510 Jefferson Parkway in Northfield. The whole community is welcome to the Monday night event.
