The Northfield City Council has tonight off, but city staff will be busy hosting a community-wide town hall on proposed street, bike, and pedestrian projects in Northfield for the next 5 years. The town hall starts tonight at 5:30 pm at the Northfield High School auditorium.
This event will allow community members to learn about the city’s decision-making process, goals, and timeline related to 2026-2030 construction projects for street improvements and bike and pedestrian paths. City staff will give a 30-minute presentation. Afterward, attendees can ask questions and review information about the projects at stations set up in the lower cafeteria.
Listen To The News:
“This town hall meeting will give everyone in the community an opportunity to see the big picture on safe transportation and weigh in as we go into budget discussion with the City Council,” said Dave Bennett, public works director. “We’ll l continue to communicate to Northfielders by sending out project letters, holding neighborhood project meetings, and sharing project details using our communication tools.”

While much attention has been given to next year’s project at Prairie Street, where staff and the City Council are debating installing a bike lane as part of the project, the town hall will focus on the many different projects coming up in the next 5 years.
